Senior Services

Jeff Wallace retired in 2017, however, he continues to serve the Township as a Senior Liaison. Mr. Wallace is a key part of the Township’s connection with our community. 

Jeff Wallace began serving the residents of Joliet Township upon his appointment as Collector on September 25, 1991, serving two and a half terms until his appointment as Trustee on June 20, 2002, serving three and three-quarter terms.  He completed over 25 years during his time in office.
He also served on the Township Officials of Illinois Board from 1992-2015, as Director, Secretary, Vice President, Treasurer, and as President from 2011-2013.

WHAT DO WE OFFER?

Senior Tax Levy Program

The Joliet Township Senior Tax Levy Program provides funding for non-profit Senior Citizen Organizations who rely on grants to assist in funding their organization’s programs, services, and activities for Senior Citizens in Joliet Township.

To be eligible for consideration of funding through the Senior Tax Levy Program, the organization must serve senior citizens within Joliet Township and must be a non-profit agency. Senior Citizen Organizations interested in applying for funding through the Joliet Township Senior Tax Levy Program must complete an application.

Information contained in the applications submitted by senior organizations is used by the Joliet Township Board of Trustees as a basis for determining the allocation of funds for this program.

Catholic Charities Foster Grandparent

Offers adults age 55 and older the opportunity to work with children with special needs at local elementary schools and preschools. Income eligible Foster Grandparent volunteers receive a modest tax-free stipend, mileage reimbursement and generally volunteer 20 hours per week.
