There are nine independently elected officials. All elected positions are 4-year terms.

Alicia Morales became the first Latina to serve as Supervisor of Joliet Township Government on July 16, 2024. In 2015, she was elected as the first Latina to join the Joliet Junior College Board of Trustees, where she now serves as Vice Chairwoman. She was also the first Latina elected as precinct committeewoman in her district. Morales is a first-generation college graduate and a lifelong resident of Joliet and Will County. She holds a degree from Joliet Junior College and an MBA from the University of St. Francis. With a background as a licensed bilingual teacher, Morales is deeply committed to education and community service.
In 2020, she launched her own business, opening an Allstate Insurance agency to help clients protect their investments. Before becoming Supervisor, Morales served as the first Latina Joliet Township Clerk, leading key initiatives such as expanding the Township’s Community Violence Intervention (CVI) programs, transportation services, and summer internship program, as well as enhancing the bidding process with Joliet LEDA and Joliet Junior College. She also played a pivotal role in acquiring the Ozzie & Peggy Mitchell Center in 2022 and the Forest Park Community Center in 2024, all through state and federal grants, without raising local taxes.
Estefany Bonilla, who previously served as Joliet Township Government’s Deputy Clerk, was officially sworn in as the new Township Clerk during the Board Meeting on September 10, 2024.
A lifelong Joliet resident, Estefany was born in California but moved to Joliet as a young child, making it her home. She is a proud graduate of Joliet Township High Schools, where she was actively involved in JROTC for all four years. Estefany credits the program for instilling her with self-discipline, leadership skills, and a commitment to community service.
Estefany earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts, with honors, from the Art Institute of Chicago in 2018. Since then, she has worked as a freelance graphic designer, supporting small businesses and nonprofit organizations with brand-building and content creation. Her work reflects her creativity, attention to detail, and ability to collaborate effectively.
Outside of her clerk duties, Estefany enjoys reading best-sellers and spending time with her family, including her nephews, nieces, and her dog, Susuki.

Vincent Alessio was born and raised in Joliet area. Vincent has experience working in construction for IBEW Local 9 working on ComEd’s power grid. Since, he has managed and operated Industrial Steam Cleaning and FilterShine located in Rockdale. These businesses both operate as family businesses and Vincent has been instrumental in building the businesses from the beginning.
Vincent is the son of Sam and Carla Alessio. He has been married to his wife Riley for 3 years, is the father of two children Jay and Carmen.
Commissioner Alessio is intent on investing in Joliet Township Road District’s infrastructure and serving residents first. He believes in optimizing the resources of the taxpayer and providing the best service possible.

I am dedicated to fair assessments and treating people of Joliet Township with respect and kindness. I will continue to administer an efficient and professional office. My experience in the assessment field includes being a member of the Will County Board of Review as well as Chief Deputy for the Will County Supervisor of Assessments. I am a member of the Will County Assessors Association and the Illinois & International (IAAO) Assessing Association. I continue to upgrade my education by attending courses in appraisal theory and valuation of property conducted by the Illinois Department of Revenue. I graduated from Joliet Central High School, Joliet Junior College and Western Illinois University. I am the son of the late Edward and Elie (Rivera) Brenczewski. I am married to Mary (Dechecko) and the father of three children Missy (Scott), Jaime, and Ryan (Jen) and have 6 grandchildren.
Tanya Arias, a lifelong resident of Joliet Township, was appointed to serve as Joliet Township Trustee on June 13, 2023. Ms. Arias earned her B.A. in Political Science with a concentration in American Government and a minor in History from the University of St. Francis (2015).
Ms. Arias’ career experience includes working as a Community Outreach Assistant for the Will County Forest Preserve, an Administrative Assistant for the Community Services Department of the Village of Richton Park—where she had the opportunity to learn about the different roles and duties of municipal departments and assist with budget reports and analysis. Currently employed at the Will County Clerk’s Office as an Election Analyst, Ms. Arias’ primary duties include ensuring a fair and transparent election process, voter education, and overseeing the Student Ambassador Program, a high-school program for juniors and seniors to engage in and learn about the local election process and participate as student election judges.
With community well-being at the forefront, Ms. Arias has continuously advocated for the quality of life of all individuals throughout her numerous community roles. Some of these roles include: current President of the Collins St Neighborhood; Chair and co-founder of the Will County Democratic Latinx Caucus; former President of the Spanish Community Center Board of Directors; a former member of the Joliet Historical Museum Old Joliet Prison Preservation Coalition; and a former member of the Joliet Township High School Strategic Plan Committee, among other organizations. Ms. Arias believes her knowledge, expertise, and community involvement will assist the Joliet Township board in making impactful decisions to improve the quality of life for all Joliet Township residents.
Antione J. Edwards, a lifelong resident of Joliet Township, was appointed to serve as Joliet Township Trustee on October 10, 2023. Mr. Edwards attended Joliet Public Schools and is a proud graduate of Joliet West. He continued his education at Illinois State University, where he earned his B.S. degree in Recreation Administration and Program Management.
Mr. Edwards’ career experience includes working as a Career Training Manager for the Joliet Job Corps Center, a Retention Specialist/Career Advisor with Joliet Junior College, and later becoming a Certified Police Officer. As a police officer, Mr. Edwards oversaw the department’s Police and Community Engagement Unit (P.A.C.E.), served as an internship coordinator, and worked as a background investigator. During this tenure, he also served as a member of the Will County Major Crimes Task Force and was awarded the 2021 Juvenile Officer of the Year by the Illinois Juvenile Officers Association.
Mr. Edwards currently serves as the Director of Safety and Security with Joliet Public Schools District 86.
His community involvement includes active memberships in the Kiwanis Club of Joliet, the African American Business Association of Will County, the N.A.A.C.P. Unit #3018 Joliet Branch, the Greater Joliet YMCA Advisory Council, and the Joliet Latino Economic Development Association.
Cesar Escutia, having been elected at 21 years old, is the youngest elected trustee in the history of Illinois. He is a lifelong resident of the Joliet Township neighborhood of Ridgewood and a graduate of Joliet schools, currently studying at Joliet Junior College.
Born into a working-class immigrant family, Escutia has always felt a strong commitment to representing the interests of workers. He is a proponent of community self-determination, embodying the principle of “Of the People, By the People, For the People.”
Raymond Slattery has lived in Joliet for most of his life and is well known to the citizens of the area due to his dedication to giving back to the community. He agreed to have his name placed on the ballot and has been serving on the Town Board since 2005.
Ray is a Certified Public Accountant. He graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Benedictine University. He also served in the military and was honorably discharged with the rank of E-5 in the U.S. Army Reserve.
Ray’s community involvement includes serving as President of the Fox River Valley Chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants, Treasurer for Easterseals Joliet Region, President of the Joliet Evening Lions Club, President of the Joliet Historical Museum, President of the Irish American Society of County Will, and a former board member of a rehab center for drug and alcohol addiction in Rockford.
He is retired from the accounting firm of Slattery, Noonan, and Company LLC and is currently the financial secretary for the Joliet Knights of Columbus Council #382.
