Joliet Township Government’s Community Violence Intervention Hosts Free Hot Catered Meal Pop Up Event
Joliet, IL – Today, July 18, 2024, the Joliet Township Government’s Community Violence Intervention program is excited to announce a special event to support our community by providing free catered hot meals. This initiative is part of our ongoing efforts to foster community engagement and provide resources to those in need.
The event is taking place at River Walk Homes, located at 316 N Broadway St, and will continue until the food is gone. We are prepared to serve 400-500 people with delicious pulled chicken sandwiches, chips, and fruit. The food was made available through Will County Share Fest.
“We believe in the power of community and the importance of coming together to support one another,” said Keshia Ellis, Joliet Township Violence Prevention Director. “Our Community Violence Intervention program aims not only to reduce violence but also to strengthen our community through events like these that bring people together and provide essential resources.”
